Onward Ho! Fitbloggin!

Traveling Forth Toward the Fitbloggin Blog Conference in Baltimore

Cool! You can literally see me waving! HI!!!

Very little excites me like in-flight wireless access does (except for when it’s free of course) but then when you pair it up with a Venti Starbucks anything that was free on account of a faulty sandwich experience previously, I’m in hog-heaven at 20,000 feet.

I’m headed toward Fitbloggin this morning in Baltimore, by far one of my favorite conferences, or EVENTS, really, of the whole year. I am not sure you know how much I love this conference. It was my first blogging conference two years ago and even after attending others, it’s still my favorite.

You might think you need to be BUFF and filled with muscle, or lean and mean, but if you’re in any way trying to get healthy, are anywhere on the spectrum of the weight-loss journey, just happen to enjoy a leaf of spinach from time to time or even remotely care about living a healthy lifestyle, you won’t find a more supportive, fun and amazing but more importantly ACCEPTING group of people anywhere.

So if you’re not on your way there right now, please consider it for next year so we can meet up.

Mkay?

After Thea picks me up at the airport (I sure hope she shaved her leg stubble for when we snuggle later!) we are headed to the McCormick Headquarters just outside Baltimore where there will be the cooking of the spices. Lots of yummy yummy spices. Which is a good thing because this greek yogurt I had for breakfast probably won’t be cutting it by then.

If you want to see the inside of McCormick and what we’re eating (and judging from the McCormick Pinterest Board it’s gonna be good stuff), I’ll be tweeting about it the whole time between 12pm and 5 pm on the hashtag #GenFresh. I met the lovely chef (Chef Mark Garcia) on Twitter already, and he’ll be cooking up the yummies  so you can follow him too as I suspect he has grand recipe ideas judging from his large following.

After that, we will be headed back to the hotel to check in and see everyone. (My fear is that I will pass you by without recognizing you from your 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch profile picture so please please please say hi if you recognize me!)

Tomorrow I will in no doubt have the shakes all day because it is the day of my Ignite Fitness presentation on going from Couch to Triathlon and Surviving. I know video will exist of this afterward so you can look for the video evidence of me looking fear right in the face, I will post it when I get it. Good or bad, you’ll see me in all my facing-fear glory.

This year, without thinking, I had decided I’d face my fear of public speaking head on. (I mean, how bad could it be, right?!) Public speaking is second only to The Evil Cansuh but still well above death in my list of fears (along with spiders – I think death might be something like 5th? Because spiders eating bananas is 4th.)

If all goes well, I will have been pretty persuasive so I won’t want to hear any excuses from you about why you can’t do it.

Also as an FYI, I will be posting twice tomorrow, once for what today was like and what you can look for tomorrow (the big things are morning workouts, a Reebok focus group I am a part of tomorrow afternoon) and then once after THE PRESENTATION. DAH DAH DUUUUUUUUUUH.

(This is how I shall look at you tomorrow, Public Speaking:)

Wish me luck! And join me today at Twitter as I come into my own as a spice girl! My weekend hashtags are #fitbloggin and #GenFresh, see you there!

Make sure to follow me on Twitter! And also McCormick Spices on Twitter and “Like” McCormick on Facebook.

Ps. Tomorrow is Foto Friday! My weekly photo linkup! I will no doubt be picking a favorite from Fitbloggin, so if you’re posting Fitbloggin photos, be sure to link up your post tomorrow in the linky here!

Disclosure: McCormick is sponsoring a portion of my Fitbloggin experience. All opinions expressed are mines own.
