Flying home from Tampa to Baltimore was fine after two beers at the airport bar because I don’t like to fly. I watched Center Stage in my iPad most of the time so I could decompress.
I played some Angry Birds. (Always a favorite.) Also can I give a shout out to the flight crew on Airtran flight 525? HILARIOUS. The flight attendant was seriously doing her stand-up routine during her seatbelt spiel. The fun continued during beverage service. We should have more fun flying like that, don’t you think? It’s always so serious.
Anyhoo, it had been a while and then my ears started popping and I could tell we were descending. We usually don’t fly right over downtown Tampa, so I had to grab my camera and take pictures of it.
It’s not a huge skyline, but it’s a skyline and I remember getting excited to drive past it on the way to my tv station internship many moons ago during college. I felt like a big deal.
Then we flew over the bay and it was hazy.
When we got around to the other side of the skyline there was no haze anymore. You can see the skyline off on the right and then do you see that one lone tower sort of on the left?
That’s the tv station where I used to work. I miss it there.
Then we got a little closer to landing and we flew over the patch of interstate I drive on all the time. Look in the bottom left and you can see the shadow of our plane.
Landing just before sunset has its perks.

Looks as though you did well overcoming your dread of flying. And dang, but that skyline hazy! For today I made an animoto video of photos from power walks. Does that count for Foto Friday? It’s not on my blog, but on my FB page.
