How to get Krazy Glue Off Your Fingers (and Other New York Adventures)

I think it’s important to acknowledge and embrace one’s guilty pleasures without the guilt part.

Helloooo, lover.

My other three hundred and something days are pretty darned ok. And I think that’s the key here, don’t you? Also, isn’t she pretty? I love my greasy Corner Bistro burgers and I ain’t afraid to show it.

Cheers to fakey eyelashes!

On the way to my favorite burger place in the world, Corner Bistro, I had to fix my broken shoe, fixable with Krazy Glue of course because I’m classy like that. So I stopped off at the drug store to get some and I hailed a cab because I knew that in the time it would take to get to Corner B, I would be able to fix my shoe. I think it’s also important to note that moms have some pretty incredible multi-tasking abilities, don’t we?

I began to glue my shoe back together when of course I glued my finger to the shoe and then I glued my fingers together.

I hate it when that happens.

So I’m trying to pick off the glue which now coats my pointer finger and thumb tips and it’s actually quite uncomfortable on there like that because you now don’t have feeling in your finger tips and you just want it off!

So I Googled “How to Get Krazy Glue” off my fingers while in the cab and I came up with a very doable option which was:

  1. Take salt, mix with water to form paste, rub on fingers
  2. Rinse
  3. Repeat

Simple enough!

Krazy Glue solution

So I had these fantastic ingredients right there at my table and I put some water on a napkin while I was waiting for my friend to get there, mixed in some salt and made a paste while drinking my McSorleys Ale and rubbed it on my fingers. The table next to me was trying to figure out what I was doing, I noticed. Never you mind, ladies.

It worked a little and I realized at the table I couldn’t really rinse, so I gave up and resolved myself to having glue fingers. And then I asked for solutions on the Average Moms Wear Capes Facebook page and the answers were brilliant! I knew I could count on you!!! Here are some answers I got to how to get Krazy Glue off your fingers (or any other unfortunate part:)

  1. Jackhammer
  2. Vegetable Oil
  3. Acetone Nail Polish Remover
  4. Vaseline
  5. De-bonder
  6. Get new shoes

Thank you for those!

My friend got there and so did my burger.

Which was somewhat very greasy and delicious, by the way (my burger, not my friend), and by the end I realized the Krazy Glue was off! So yes, OIL WORKS! BLOODY BRILLIANT!

Who knew it would actually be my burger that got the Krazy Glue off my fingers? That’s just weirdly awesome.

Yay!!

After are burger and beer escapade we had to pop by Magnolia Bakery to get some cupcake takeout. You know, for later. (Very important to plan ahead.)

Two for me, none for you. (Vanilla with chocolate frosting and a red velvet because I’ve never tried that in a cupcake.)

And then we headed back uptown for drinkies with my old co-workers and it was somuchfun, kicking back at our old happy hour place.

Stadium seating!

We were walking back to the hotel and noticed that now there’s stadium seating in Times Square! (Who knew?!) But it makes sense. This was most definitely not here the last time I was, but you can sit in the stands in the middle of the street and people watch, take pictures or make out (like many were doing.)

I’m happy.

Of course, the guy playing the saxophone on the corner was still there.

Just like old times.
