Time for another Food Swap Spotlight!
Initially in all honesty, when I went to write this post, it was going to be a total comparison between cute little cracker snacks in fun shapes like fish and bunnies and I was going in for the perfect swap.
In fact, I was going to swear off the salty snack that rhymes with Schmoldschmish altogether because of the long list of ingredients in them, (instead, I’m just swearing off the ones of the rainbow variety on account of the Blue 2, Red 40, Red 3, and Blue 1.) But I found out during my research that they’re actually not all that bad in the grand scheme of things and they are actually preservative-free.
However, in general, on our journey toward preservative and chemical-free, we have weaned ourselves off of most boxed snacks on account of the amount of salt, preservatives, and coloring in them, but the ones I do feel comfortable with the kids having are the cute little cheddar bunnies by Annie’s.
There are fewer ingredients than the aforementioned fish counterpart, there are no artificial ingredients, colors or preservatives, and they are made from organic ingredients.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve actually come to fall in love with Annie’s products, from their various flavors of bunny crackers…
And I love the story of Annie’s. Much like many of us moms, the real Annie was a mom on a mission to make food with “real ingredients, all found in nature—no artificial anything…” and I can appreciate that.
Annie still lives on her organic farm in Connecticut, 20 years after starting Annie’s Homegrown, where she grows organic fruits and veggies for her local co-op and farmer’s market.
The White Cheddar Bunnies are easy to get addicted to, my kids absolutely love them. We mix it up and have the chocolate or the cinnamon grahams. This right now is the closest we get to “desserts” as we continue our path toward no preservatives and they are ok with this.
Annie’s Bunnies make me happy.
They’re second best to making your own in my opinion, and since I love sharing my favorite things, I’m excited because Annie’s is giving you a chance to try some too! One randomly chosen winner will receive a package of bunnies, their choice of flavor. You can see the Bunny Grahams here and Bunny Crackers here!
Have you tried Annie’s products? Which ones do you want to try?
Leave a comment below to tell me which ones are your favorites or which bunnies you’d like to try! And make sure you let me know you entered in the Rafflecopter form below!
