It’s time for my very super favorite post of the month and that is announcing the Super MOM of the Month!
(Drum roll please…)
Congratulations to LILLIAN! Of My Recipe Journey (yum – that’s right up my alley!)
Lillian is a mom of two girls ages 21 & 18 from New York. She was kind enough to answer all my crazy questions so we could get to know her and her amazing life as a super mom. Congrats Lillian!! Make sure you go on over and visit her amazing recipes by the way! Here’s she is, our Super MOM of the Month!
First, what is your profession?
I’ve been a stay at home Mom since I first became a Mom 21 years ago!
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in motherhood?
The biggest challenge I’ve faced in motherhood has been dealing with the fact that both of my girls have a seizure disorder!
What is your most embarrassing moment as a mom (this can be anything like springing a leak, a blowout diaper, a massive tantrum… anything you want to share.)
The only embarassing moment I had as a Mom was when my then, 3 year old daughter, got stuck inside of a toy doll house during a preschool interview.
What are your favorite things to do for family time and how do you fit it in?
I love game night! Its been hard to fit that in lately because they’re getting older, but we used to make a point of doing it every friday night when they were younger!
What are your three biggest lessons that you have taken with you throughout your life that you hope your kid(s) will take throughout their lives?
I hope my kids always try to look at the bright side! I hope they always put their family first! I hope they always conduct themselves with integrity!
What’s your favorite mommy guilty pleasure?
My favorite Mommy guilty pleasure is my chocolate candy! I hide it in my night table so that my kids don’t eat it!
How do you decompress?
I decompress with a glass of wine at dinner or I like watching a funny show! Sometimes both!
What was the biggest thing that you learned about motherhood that no one could tell you beforehand, that you had to learn for yourself?
I learned that Motherhood is like walking around with your heart outside your body! That’s a quote I heard once that totally sums up Motherhood!
How do you add healthy foods/exercise to your family life?
I cook homemade dinners 6 nights a week! And I don’t buy too many unhealthy snacks!
Great answers Lillian! And congratulations! You will be receiving your very own cape from our sponsor, Sew Plain Jane – we hope you wear it proudly, you’ve earned it!
