Running really is cheaper than therapy.
Where else can you get out with a girlfriend and air out all your dirty laundry, get a weight-lifted, get some fresh air and move some personal mountains all within a 50 minute window? And for free?
I’m excited to be back and running again, I ran 5 miles yesterday with my friend Nicole, which is the furthest I’ve been able to run since October. Not a single pain, either, and I even feel great today, no soreness whatsoever. Can I just get a big woot woot for muscle memory?
You’d think after a winter of very little exercise it’d be hard to eek out 5 miles. Thank GOODNESS it wasn’t.
It rained at the beginning too and running in the rain always makes a person feel a little bit more badass. It went away though and the sun came out and it was beautiful (we were so badass we chased the rain away? Sure.)
I didn’t take any photos (I really can’t believe it didn’t even occur to me to get one, I must have just been overjoyed to be doing this.) We weren’t keeping time or pace, either, we were just out there for the distance. And the joy of it.
Another major event occurred over the weekend.
I got this!
I’m typing on it right now! I got it in on Friday but I broke it in this weekend.
It’s beautiful.
It’s shiny.
It edits the most beautiful videos ever in like 10 seconds flat and I don’t know if you know this about me but I love taking video and I love editing video and on my other computer I had Windows Movie Maker and Windows Movie Maker would literally crash with every edit. Sometimes it would save the edit, sometimes it wouldn’t.
In result, I have come so close to throwing my computer through a window trying to edit a simple 1 minute long video and add music that would take me 8 hours to do.
So take a look at the video I did of the jogglers that came in town to visit a couple months ago (running + juggling = joggling!) They’re from Bobandtrish.com and they’ve broken world records with running and juggling and they make it look so effortless.
The story is really cool but if you’re a video geek like me, this took me about 1 MILLIONTH of the time it would have taken me with moviemaker. So thank you, Mac, and your lovely stock iMovie program. Thank you.
You can check out the rest of the Joggler story at MyRaceRagz where I posted today. Yes I’m all over the place but I’m excited! Lots of good stuff going on.
How was your weekend? Do you have a Mac or PC and do you love what you have???

Nice job on the run – and running in the rain does make you feel pretty badass. It can also make you feel kind of like a kid too.

If iMovie made you dawdle, wait until you get to edit using Final Cut Pro. That is if you want to shell out some more money for the software. Believe me, that will be money well spent.
