Four score, 7 years ago we picked Sunday, February 5th to get married.
OK just 7 years ago.
I didn’t realize it was Super Bowl weekend when I began to plan the wedding (what girl thinks of that) but it was brought to our attention pretty quickly after the invitations went out.
In hindsight I don’t even remember who was playing that weekend. All I know is we were floating off toward the Caribbean on a cruise ship during kickoff and my husband didn’t seem to care.
We’ve done a lot in 7 years.
We loved, we fought, we probably threw things, we laughed until my water broke, we had babies, we bought a house and a minivan, we learned to love going to bed around 10, all a long stretch from our college partying days and short skirts.
7 years later, I LOVE where we are. Who we’ve become.
Together.
I don’t recognize my life at all, in a good way.
And I can look back and say I wouldn’t want to be in any other place or time with anyone else but him. I like that we’ve built a life together based on no regrets.
Happy anniversary, honey, 7 wonderful years. I love you.
And Happy Super Bowl Sunday to the rest of ya! We shall be drinking our favorite pinot tonight.
