I think by all accounts and by all intents and purposes, we have officially confirmed as a family that we indeed squoze every last drop out of Christmas we could this year.
We had pageants.
Parties.
We swooned at lights…
We went to Disney’s Magical Christmas or whatever it’s called (ok it’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas, I can never remember) and kept them up until past midnight for a night of hot chocolate with Mickey and fireworks and parades and light-up light sabers and ice cream.
We sang Christmas carols and after 6 years in our house, we made the fireplace work. It was a stretch to have a fire in 75 degree weather in the “winter” but when you crank the air conditioning up it can feel like winter. (Does that count?) We also roasted marshmallows in it.
We saw Santa and were so wound up in line that mommy wanted to turn back because she didn’t actually think we’d make it through. (Somehow I got them to pause for just a second.)
Right before the (fake) snow angels.
Cookie baking. A time-honored tradition with my mom.
Christmas running.
I am not surprised at all that when we finally really woke up at 6 a.m. Christmas Day (after our 4 a.m. wake up call) I took a picture of them and got a picture of The Blur. (Are you?):
We wore matching pajamas as a family (and I got the footie kind! Hurrah! I’m wearing them now!)
It was an amazing holiday which (as always) went by too fast and which I am pretty sure we have done everything Christmasy we could possibly have done. (I am a mixture of happily exhausted today.)
It is also that Christmas that will forever go down as the year of the Christmas Monkey.
We hope you had a merry!!

Wow! That was a lot! I would be utterly exhausted! Glad you enjoyed it all. We chose not to travel this year and really had a nice time spending a quieter and more relaxing Christmas at home.

I’m exhausted just reading this! It sounds like you had a fantastic holiday, Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family. PS – I’m going to be eternally jealous of your proximity to Disney World.

I think we can safely say that you squoze every inch of Christmas out for your family. It looks like you had a blast doing it too. Like Bari, I too am jealous that you can just go to Disney like that, but thinks it is very cool that you can.
