They’re filled with healthy protein and are all natural and even sort of low calorie too! It is so easy to make and the kids and I love it. It’s really a wonderful healthy alternative to cookies and crackers and filling as a snack too, they were gone pretty quickly.
I made them and ate them before a long run a couple weekends ago and it was perfect with a cup of coffee.
I found the recipe in the September Runner’s World and I made a few teeny adjustments.
This was so simple, I made it with the pirates.
So here you go! Enjoy!
Granola Energy Bars
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Bear Naked granola (I prefer Vanilla Almond Crunch. I’ve looked at all the granolas, cereals and everything and I’ve found this one to be the most natural ingredients and the lowest in fat & calories.)
- 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries (or more if you want!)
- 1/2 cup walnets (optional since the Bear Naked granola already has almonds in it.)
Mix in a bowl. Spread out on greased baking sheet. Bake on 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Cut into squares. The end!
