The Jar of Motivation: YOU in pictures.

by

Look at the jar, how beautiful it is all nice and full with YOU IN IT! Thank YOU ALL for being a part of this. (You can read about the project from the original Motivation in a Jar post here.)

I was shocked and excited to see so many of you send in pictures of your moments and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry to each one as you sent them to me with your story and quote attached.

Some of you I know and some of you I don’t, but by the end of this project I feel like I now know all of you. I spent so much time with your pictures and, your moments.

I get verclempt just writing that because they make me want to have moments too.

I guess that in the end, that’s the point.

Creating a place where you can see how far you’ve come, a place where other people can see how far you’ve come, but most of all, a place where other people can see how far they too can go.

If there is anything I believe in the whole world after losing weight and crossing finish lines, it’s that this life is yours to live.

Yours.

And it’s filled with unbelieveable moments and joy if you just reach out and grab them.

It may mean pain (it usually does), it may mean fear, it may mean doubting yourself, and as you’ll see from the pictures that self-doubt does not discriminate size or shape: at some point it is in all of us.

Whatever finish line you’ve crossed in your life, chances are getting to the starting line was the hardest point.

Here are the miles and the miles and the miles, hundreds of miles and pushups and reps that have led us to these pictures. The journey feels long at times, but we’re all in it together. This is what happens when bloggers and Tweeters and people rally around fitness, being and becoming healthy, and learning to be our own heroes.

This is the Jar of Motivation. (Maximize to feel its full effect…)

Enjoy.

If you didn’t make this video, stay tuned — I have another one coming up only I will have to cap out the entries (I actually had too many this time though I somehow fit them all in!) As motivation continues to elude us, we will need to continue to fill it.

I hope you enjoyed it like I enjoyed seeing all of you doing these amazing things!

So there you go.

Motivation in a jar.

Open it. Use it. Repeat.

  2. Christie you did an amazing job putting that video together. That video captures exactly what each person was feeling the moment that picture was taken. And while we may have provided the pictures….you put together a perfect Motivation in a Jar! Thanks!!

  3. WOW, WOW, WOW!!  I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful the video is to watch.  It will be one I go to and watch again for that specific reason…motivation. I want to share a quote with you….

”Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”.  Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.  Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you.  We are all meant to shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not in some of us; it’s in everyone.  And as we let our own light shine, we subconciously give other people permission to do the same.”

Thank you so much Christie for taking the time to create the video.  I love being able to share in the accomplishments of those on the video.  It is an amazing gift!
